Ken McCalla at Foodival

I popped into the Foodival in Tooting this afternoon, and had the pleasure of seeing one of the Open House Artists, Ken McCalla, running a workshop there.

Ken was showing people how to use vegetables to make prints and decorate Tooting Transition Town bags.  The Foodival was organised by Tooting Transition Town.  Local people contributed homegrown fruit and vegetables which nearby restaurants then cooked up into a yummy feast shared with passing Tooting residents.  Alongside inventive ways of growing veggies and homemade cakes and condiments, the event demonstrates how much of our food we can grow and use locally.

Ken’s work is full of colour and somehow conveys his calm presence. Everyone really enjoyed working with him.

Ken will be showing his work at venue 69 and will be providing demos of his work every morning at 11.30am.
