Create and make during open house!

We have a fabulous range of workshops taking place in artists’ open houses this year. No previous experience is needed for the workshops. Artists and crafters will be on hand to provide materials, guidance and inspiration! The number in brackets refers to the location of the workshop on the art trail.  Create and make!

Workshop timetable

Open all day both weekends

Make a brooch or fascinator from Fabric Nation’s collection of vintage textiles with Gillian Elam. Drop-in workshop during both Open House weekends. Open to all ages (78).

Fingermouse workshops with Louise Williams. Drop-in throughout Open House. Aimed at children, but adults welcome! Materials provided (78).

Pottery Painting – Caragh is inviting children ( and adults) to paint a piece of pottery which Caragh will glaze and fire , then they can collect a week later. For more information on times and prices , contact Caragh on 07984 619 076 or caraghbuxton4@hotmail.com (75)

Clock Making with Barbara Lascelles and Christine Moores. Drop-in throughout Open House. £5 per head.  For more information contact  christinemoores@yahoo.com (40).

Saturday 2nd October

Make a fused glass pendant, coaster or small glass mosaic.  Mandy Treptow will be running a drop-in workshop during the first Saturday (2nd Oct) of open house from 2-6pm. Mandy will then fire your design for you to collect the following Sunday (10th).  No cutting is required so all skill levels and even children (with a parent or carer supervising) can join in. Cost will be £7 for every item to cover materials and firing costs plus £1 to post the item after firing if you can’t pick up on Sunday 10th October. (78)

Eco art with Amelia Critchlow: Make Your Own Artist’s Book on 2 October and Reclaimed Canvas Collage on 3 October. Both 9:30–11am. Cost £15 – includes all materials. Booking essential at amelia.critchlow@hotmail.com (80).

TimeLines Drawing with Sara Mark and Harriet Fredman as part of The Big Draw. Saturdays, 2 and 9 October 11am-1pm. 16 yrs and over (40).
