Launch events from Sunday May 2nd include collaborative drawing and story telling activities.  Normal opening hours are 10-4.30, Tuesday to Saturday.

The image on the Sprout leaflet is from one of Ken McCalla’s beautiful paintings. Ken is a member of the Colour and Movement Arts Collective.  Their website describes Ken McCalla’s work as an artist “has spanned over 20 years, and embraces carving, painting, printing, sculpture, film and theatre. His artwork explores his personal growth, questions relationships, celebrates harmony and reflects a cultural identity.  He also provided education and workshops in an effort to bridge gaps between the young and old, and changes in our culture, Ken has a range of art workshops under the theme of ‘Sankofa’. Focusing on learning from our past , values needed for our future. Lessons involve story telling, potato printing, card making and printing techniques.”  Ken also exhibited in last year’s open house.  For more information, have a look at the Colour and Movement website.
